Terms of use

Last updated: October 31, 2026

Short version: be nice, your notes are yours, and Apple handles the money.

The license

Do Not Read is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement for App Store apps. These terms add a few plain-language points about how the app works.

Your notes

You own what you write. Notes go directly from you to the people you send them to through Apple's Messages; we never receive, store or review them. You're responsible for what you send, so please don't use Do Not Read to harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or to send anything illegal. Notes stay in your Messages history and your friends' like any other message.

Purchases

Packs and the Hall Pass are one-time purchases made through the App Store. Apple handles payment, receipts and refunds; to ask for a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem page. Purchased items stay yours and can be restored on your devices with Restore purchases in the app's Shop. The Hall Pass includes every pack we release, while the app is available. Seasonal packs are only sold during their season but stay usable once bought.

No warranty

We work hard to make Do Not Read reliable, but it's provided as is. We can't guarantee that every note arrives, unfolds or works on every device, since delivery depends on Apple's Messages. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or incidental losses from using the app.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms. If the terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date above.
